Self-driving car technology kicks into full gear.
Four states have already begun working on self-driving cars, which is being hailed as the future of transportation. In California, Nevada, Florida and the District of Columbia, jurisdictions have already begun drafting new rules for self-driving cars. Once legislation is established, vehicle testing will begin on private roads before being approved to move to public roads. The last hurdle for states will be to work with the U.S. Department of Transportation to set laws for governing average car owners in their operation of driverless cars.
